Night time in Marrakech and the photographers forgot their flashes. The result was a lot of underexposed pictures, portraits with motion blur and people red, blue and pink in the face from the ambient effect lights. Some could be turned around, others were converted to black and white and it all came together in the juxtaposition of lively colours and strong black and white,
There were important guests who weren't photographed at all. We got their photos from another occasion, dressed them and put them into our location.
The big dinner under a full moon, a setting of 450 guests on a single, long table, decorated with a few thousand candles, was a photo that nobody even attempted. We combined three pictures, not all taken at the event, into a more illustrative interpretation and got on the cover of the book.
